Hard knock life

My most influential teacher has been life, reason being? Nothing hammers a lesson in like getting your ass kicked by it. I never had any real influential teachers going up. Teachers wanted very little to do with me after they realized that they weren’t going to be able to control me and that I was gonna buck. At first I was gonna say my dad and he would definitely be on the list but I couldn’t stand the fuck and that weakened his influence greatly. I have a pretty high IQ, way above average and as a kid I believed that I knew absolutely everything. I refused to take advice from others, wouldn’t listen to anything that anybody would say, instead choosing to learn everything the hard way. Life has definitely been my most influential teacher. With age comes wisdom and so I now know that I don’t know everything, in fact I now know that I don’t know nothing. But even with this knowledge I am still more likely to ignore somebody’s advice and go the hard route. I’m the kind of guy that will try to bash myself through the door 4 or 5 times before I decide to just turn the doorknob. Some things die hard.
